Only one week to go until the Vancouver Walk for Farm Animals!
This year we have an exciting time planned. The walk will be starting near Broadway & Granville and the route takes us along Broadway & 4th. The past couple of years many people were concerned that walking near Second Beach in Stanley Park wasn’t visible enough, so we’ve decided to do the walk along two busy streets with lots of car and foot traffic.
The Walk is only the first part of the fun, though. Jon Camp of Vegan Outreach is giving a talk on animal activism at 3 pm at UBC, so after the Walk everyone is invited to that – which will be followed by a vegan Thanksliving dinner. Tofurkey is donating a whole slew of Tofurkey roasts, a whole bunch of people will be preparing side dishes, and Veganmania is donating dessert!
The whole point of the walk is to raise money to support Farm Sanctuary’s important work. If you don’t know about Farm Sanctuary, have a look at their website. They do some really amazing work, including running 2 sanctuaries for rescued farm animals. I’ve spent time at the sanctuary in California. Being able to visit with animals who don’t live in fear, who are not headed for an early and painful death, was just incredible.
More importantly, Farm Sanctuary does loads and loads of advocacy work – working towards a world where animals are not exploited for human pleasure.
If you can, please support our local walkers:
If you’d like to join the walk there’s still time to register.

What wonderful work. You are all special people who care. I love farm animals. I found a nice website that has a lot of farm animal calendars with very nice pictures. If anyone would like to check it out – http://www.farmcalendars.com/
Have a wonderful day
